A look from makeup artist Diane da Silva's portfolio
Traveler Senior Assistant Editor Mollie Chen is just back from Florida, where she was shooting short videos for CNTraveler.com and picked up some expert beauty picks:
"In addition to the temperature shock, I’ve come down with a severe case of post-makeup artist depression. After having a professional—in this case the fabulous Diane da Silva—dust, contour, and bronze your face every day, it’s tough coming back to reality. I’m coping by stocking up on da Silva’s must-haves, a trio of French drugstore staples that have kept Parisian femme fatales dewy for decades. You can get them stateside from specialty shops and online boutiques like New London Pharmacy and Beauty Habit. They’re slightly more expensive, but still cheaper than a plane ticket." Mollie's new favorites after the jump!
Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentre: Somehow this cream manages to be super moisturizing without being heavy or greasy. Foundation goes over it smoothly and stays put.
Homeoplasmine skin balm: Forgive the packaging's unfortunate resemblance to hemorrhoid cream—this is the ultimate do-it-all balm. I smeared it on my chapped lips constantly, used it to keep my cuticles soft, and even tried a little on fly-away split ends.
Bioderma Crealine makeup remover: This water-based solution is amazingly gentle and rinses clean—no oily streaks!
